Patriots-Colts game

I have no idea why Bill Belichick is getting roasted over “The Call” last night. Fourth-and-two from their own 28 yard-line, 2:08 to go in the game, Indy had already hung 2 TDs on you in the fourth quarter, and oh yeah, they’ve got all 3 time-outs left (plus, perhaps, the 2-minute warning). If “magical thrower” Tom Brady can get them a first down, Belichick gets the win and is crowned a genius. With an average punt (44 yds. with no return, according to the box score), Indy is on their own 28, with 72 yards and the full 2 minutes to drive the field. Everyone knows that this opens up the field for Peyton to throw the ball, or Addai to run the ball. Belichick simply trusted his offense and at the same time showed that he respected Peyton and the Colts. I don’t see the problem here. Your garden-variety All-Star QB will drive the length of the field after the 2-minute warning, as the average football fan well knows; Manning sure isn’t “garden-variety.” I’m definitely no fan of Belichick or the Pats, but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt here. Go with your strength, man!
